Spring Camp May 25-27, 2018
FWOC in conjunction with AOA is hosting 2018's Orienteering Training Camp for orienteers (or wannabees) of all ages and skill level. Families are welcome. Join us from May 25 to 27 for 3 coached training sessions and a Sunday afternoon event at Elbow Bluffs. Organizers are planning activities for wee orienteers, adults brand new to orienteering, and those who have been on a map - no matter their skill level from forest beginner to expert. Raphael Ferrand from Norway is planning the intermediate and advanced activities on two great maps.
Expect some socializing, a score-O, marshmallow roast and maybe even an informative talk in the evening.
Accommodation is arranged at Kamp Kiwanis.
2018 AOA Retreat and AGM Tentative scheduled for
November 2-4 .
Deer Valley Meadows Camp
This is a great time to get together, from BEGINNER to EXPERIENCED orienteers, to review the successes of the past season, and prepare for the new season to come.
The retreat, includes accommodation and meals, and is open to all 2017 AOA members at NO COST. Deadline to register is October 27th.
Experience the 2017 Alberta Championships
Join us September 16 & 17 in Canmore for an awesome weekend of racing in the outstanding natural beauty of the Canadian Rockies. Events will be held on challenging, fun, high quality maps of some very special terrain. Courses suitable for all ages and levels of experience are on offer- the 2017 Alberta Champs is a chance for beginners to try their new skills on courses designed for less experienced runners, and also a chance for experienced orienteers to test their skills on excellent courses in challenging technical terrain.
All Sport One Day

At Repsol will feature the sport of orienteering for kids between ages 9-12.This will be a fun activity, trying map reading and control finding. Kids really enjoy this outside adventure , it's like a treasure hunt with a purpose. Sign up free to secure a spot!
June 7th Wednesday, Calgary at RILEY PARK 6-8 PM
No experience required. Families are welcome.
There will be activites for kids, youth and adults.
We have a special rate of $1 (map fee) for this event to help encourage newcomers to come out and play!
We'll be gathering just north of the wading pool in Riley Park. If arriving by car, we suggest that you park along 8th Avenue, east of 12th St N.W. Parking is free after 6:00 pm
